The Benchmade 417BK Fact is a fast, slim spear point folder built robust for serious use. Utilizing the same stainless steel liner, AXIS lock construction as the massive Presidio II, the Fact offers the same high performance materials in a lightweight and low drag design. Skeletonized 6061-T6 billet aluminum are milled for excellent traction in hand while an S30V blade offers the best combination of qualities for every day carry and use, even in a tactical environment.

The Blade: The Fact has a high performance blade made from CPM S30V for a good combination of wear and corrosion resistance. The spear point profile blade delivers profound piercing capability and thanks to the relatively thin blade stock the Fact still maintains excellent slicing ability. The non-reflective, black coated finish provides discreet use and enhanced corrosion resistance.

The Handle: The handle is made from skeletonized 6061-T6 billet aluminum handle scales attached to rigid, black-coated steel liners making it rock solid despite the slim profile. Add to this framework the burly, ambidextrous AXIS lock system and you have a folder that is easy to operate and highly reliable. The aluminum scales have a milled groove pattern that gives the knife a high level of security in the hand even in adverse conditions. The handle design is ergonomic and allows for comfortable use in a variety of grip positions.

CPM S30V: A martensitic, powdered stainless steel with high levels of wear and corrosion resistance. Its chemistry promotes the formation and even distribution of vanadium carbides, which are harder and more effective at cutting than chromium carbides. This gives it a very refined grain, further improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all around steel with high levels of performance.
